WCTS 2019

WCTS 2019 Program

The 1st IFAC Workshop on Control of Transportation Systems (WCTS 2019) will be held on June 30 – July 1, 2019, at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. Haifa is situated in a broad natural bay between the Mediterranean Sea and the Carmel mountain range. The terraced landscape of the city offers a rich variety of breathtaking panoramas. The city has many museums and cultural centers as well as restored quarters, historic sites, and beautiful beaches. WCTS 2019 will include several sessions, keynote lectures, and social events. The main scope of the WCTS 2019 is the development of automatic control theory for the purpose to redefine, and redesign advanced integrated traffic management systems to improve our cities to become more energy-efficient, sustainable, and livable. While the impending advent of fully autonomous vehicles in the future, their impact on the city traffic is not yet clear, given that the current traffic management is limited to conventional vehicles. The future autonomous vehicles can introduce a paradigm shift in traffic management. It will include new management structure, goals, and means which might require us to develop new control methods, tools, and schemes.
WCTS 2019 will provide an interesting opportunity for the academic and industrial communities to investigate new ideas, to share innovative solutions, and to discuss future research directions of control in transportation systems.
